The human brain is composed of roughly 86 billion neurons. Neurotransmitters regulate mood, cravings, addictions, energy, libido, and sleep.

Our brain lacks 4 things when we are trying to break this bad habit. Trying to break an addiction affects our behavior and causes imbalances which is why the cycle of trying to break it is so hard.

Addiction steals joy and the souls feel like its rotting. God says, the thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. John 10:10

I believe that no one wakes up and truly says "I want to be an addict or an alcoholic today"

So lets take a quick look of what this thief steals.

Dopamine deficiencies can cause fatigue, memory lose, depression, addiction, personality disorders, chronic fatigue, panic.
Serotonin deficiencies can cause constipation, nausea, blues, insomnia, addiction, depression, learning disabilities, thought confusion.
Acetycholine deficiencies can cause anxiety, stress,
learning difficulties, agitation, mood swings, memory lapses, attention
problems, diminished comprehension.
GABA deficiencies can cause insomnia, sleep
disorders, muscle pain, muscle tension, stomach cramps, high anxiety,
inability to think clearly, headache, hypertension.
Dopamine deficiency is responsible for depression, fatigue, memory lost, depression, personality disorders along with panic.

Serotonin deficiency causes the blues, insomnia, depression, learning difficulties and confusion.

Acetycholine deficiency causes anxiety, stress, agitation, mood swings, attention problem and diminished confusion.

GABA deficiency causes insomnia, sleep disorders, muscle pain, stomach cramps, high anxiety, inability to think clearly, headaches and hypertension.

In other words you become lifeless and depressed as well as you are not able to find any pleasure in any area of your life. Hopelessness is a good word to describe this feeling.

Think about that feeling of not being loved, the feeling of shame and guilt, panic and stressed out.

Why is it so hard to get better. It's a disease but a disease that can be treated if you are actually "wanting the help". However you have to want it. You have to have the will to survive the will to pick yourself up and find your "Sense of Self"

What is this Sense of Self? It's how we take care of ourselves and NOT what others think of us. It's having a connection with our divine source (Our God, our Spirit, the one who says that all things are possible through him)

The only thing that can steal the Sense of Self is loosing the Sense of Self due to loosing the goodness you see in yourself.

God created each and everyone of you with "Good" and not evil. It goes back to that word "Free Will". The ability to choose life or death.

If you are looking for further information, stayed tuned because there is more to come. Start today by saying With God All Things Are Possible (Matthew 19:26). I Can Do All Things Through Him Who Gives Me Strength (Philippians 4:13). Remember to believe with all your faith and cast your care.

If you are a parent who is looking for "HOPE", then you found your answer with these blogs. Stay loving, stay praying and know that Jeremiah 29:11 says that God has plan for good and not for evil, a plan for hope and a future.

If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God who gives to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or fault finding, and it will be given to him. James 1:5

Matthew 19:26 says with God all things are possible and this includes overcoming additctions.

A point to ponder on my friends...

What are the many ways are there to be addicted? How many things include addiction?
I recently ran into an old acquaintance who was looking for some coaching with one of their kids. It dawned on me as I looked on line at statistics at all the moms, dads and grandparents had no way of knowing where to start. How on a limited budget that the options were slim.
How do they begin to gather the knowledge, to obtain the support or even where to begin. They need hope, they need answers and they need awareness. It's easy to say, go talk to your pastor, your priest, their parents but is it really that easy?

I believe the answer is no. You forget that people are embarrassed, misinformed and disbelief sets in. It can't be my child...

Well in a world where drugs are sold everywhere and made available to just about everyone, don't say it can't be my child because it can.

Have hope and let me know if you need our support.

Reach out and ponder on how easy drugs are to get. I think you'll be surprised.

Well Integrative Nutrition (IIN) coaches understand this very well.
Visit: www.integrativenutrition.com

Primary Foods are the foods we need that don't go on our plates

Spiritual
Exercise or Daily Activity
Career
Relationships

When these primary foods are off balance, then our secondary foods, which are the foods we eat, are off balance as well.

What Primary Foods can be off balanced in your life?
What Primary Foods can be off in an 18 year old's who has no one to mentor to them?

Let me know your thoughts on this.

A point to ponder on my friends...

It's one small gesture of kindness that they will notice in the end.

A point to ponder on my friends...Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14305211888928490407noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968373049058436542.post-92060009977215375612015-09-02T09:03:00.003-07:002015-09-02T09:06:46.994-07:00Well it's official. Lucky2BeMe is now a 501c3Amazing, after 3 years we are now officially a 501c3.

Next in line. Try to find a grant writer who can help us write a grant to be able to get some funds for these graduating teens to attend some college and or a tech school.

I've been making my way through Integrative Nutrition which is a school founded by Joshua Rosenthal. It is one of the most exciting classes I've ever taken. What it has taught me about education (my background is a systems engineer obtained at a community college) is that these graduating teens can obtain a certification as a health coach (providing they are interested in health, nutrition and fitness) and start a business after 1 year. Way less money than a 4 year degree and just as important as a systems engineer.

So my goal is to help these graduating teens become certified health coaches. If you search the need for these educated health coaches, you'll realize in todays fast paced life that doctors don't have the time to educate you on becoming healthy from the inside out. That inflammation starts on the inside by what we put into our bodies as well as the effect of the environment and what it does to us internally.

After watching my mom pass away from lung cancer (not caused by cigarette smoke), I saw the need for people to have someone who cares about them, someone who will just listen but more importantly, someone who will offer hope. None of this was offered to my mom lying in a hospital bed and she was given no hope by the doctors who treated her due to the fact that they didn't have the 10 minutes to give her the hope she desperately needed. It takes little to no effort to offer someone hope. If it weren't for my daughter Taylor, who is also in this class with me and a fitness coach herself, my mom would have passed away with no hope at all.

Why don't doctors educate on crowding out the crappy food we eat by crowding in some of the healthy more nutritious foods. Why do they want to offer a pharmaceutical pill or a surgery to fix something that may possibly be fixed by foods that contain Antioxidants, Flavonoids or Carotenoids within our foods?

Flavonoids are a group of plant metabolites
thought to provide health benefits through cell signalling pathways and
antioxidant effects. These molecules are found in a variety of fruits
and vegetables.
Carotenoids are a class of more than 600
naturally occurring pigments synthesized by plants, algae, and
photosynthetic bacteria. These richly colored molecules are the sources
of the yellow, orange, and red colors of many plants (1). Fruit and
vegetables provide most of the carotenoids in the human diet.
Antioxidants are a molecule that inhibits the
oxidation of other molecules. Oxidation is a chemical reaction
involving the loss of electrons or an increase in oxidation state.
Oxidation reactions can produce free radicals. In turn, these radicals
can start chain reactions. Free radicals are highly reactive chemicals that have the potential to harm cells.

Why aren't we educating our young adults about Primary Foods? Physical, Career, Relationships and Spirituality. We want these young adults to be successful, compassionate and caring yet we offer them nothing to educate them on the reasons for it.

Why is it that the medical community supports pharmaceutical pills to fix and not supplemnts and nutrients to help.

So with this said, my goal is to educate you on helping yourself help yourself through nutrition for your inside, relationship and career building , forgiveness and love for the soul and exercise for the body.

By providing this information, we can educate one young adult on the importance of primary foods and how becoming a health coach can put them on a path to success just as a systems engineer is on a path to success. Both equally important but one less expensive than the other with the same opportunity to make money.
What does this mean?

A network or group of people that unknown to them, are somehow affiliated or linked, specifically to fulfill the will of God

Who do you know that is part of your Karass?

On the last week before Easter, invite a teen into your conversation. Tell them about our divine Savior and help them feel the love. It takes just a few short moments of your time to possibly change a young teens life, so why not reach out and try. What are you waiting for because the moment is right before your eyes.

It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end...

What have you given up for the past 40 days? Have you thought about what you have given up every time you thought about it or missed it?

I gave up sugar and every time I thought about having frozen yogurt, a bite of a piece of cake or some type of sugary substance, I reminded myself of the reason I gave it up.

It put me in a better place and allowed me to think about our Savior during the times I had other things on my mind.

We are one week out and I hope that this week you stop and think about how many times that what you had given up brought you one step closer to him...
And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God's love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody). Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or in order that I may glory, but have not love (God's love in me), I gain nothing. Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth]. (1 Corinthians 13:1-8 AMP)

I may be able to speak the languages of human beings and even of angels, but if I have no love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging bell. I may have the gift of inspired preaching; I may have all knowledge and understand all secrets; I may have all the faith needed to move mountains—but if I have no love, I am nothing. I may give away everything I have, and even give up my body to be burned —but if I have no love, this does me no good. Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail. Love is eternal. There are inspired messages, but they are temporary; there are gifts of speaking in strange tongues, but they will cease; there is knowledge, but it will pass. (1 Corinthians 13:1-8 GNT)

If I don't have love...
Without love who are we? Do we love God and do we know God loves us
The one gift that we can give any one teen or young adult is to teach them about love
God says the greatest gift I give is love

My one young teen I've shared my love with is now starting college. She was excepted to a private college in Indiana. Although she has yet to hug freely, she understands that there are people out there who love her unconditionally and she has come to learn she has someone she can lean on who loves her.
A thought to ponder on my friends...Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14305211888928490407noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968373049058436542.post-64744283563214999902014-03-26T19:54:00.000-07:002014-03-26T19:54:27.540-07:00FairnessSo the last few weeks I've been on this journey. It's been a difficult one and probably one out of the two most difficult journey's I've been on in my life

I'm trying to figure out the lesson from the word "fairness"

Fairness is defined as "the quality of making judgments that are free from discrimination"

So what if someone is not capable of being fair. What if someone is bought through a pocket full of cash or a political favor.

How are we to teach a young adult that when we as adults live in the same world and struggle with this very same word which is difficult for us to understand but still have to teach some young adult how to deal with this word or the lack of this word.

As I ponder through my thoughts of the last several weeks I have learned one valuable lesson. That in a world that we may perceive as unfair because we believe the person making the judgement call is not free from discrimination or able to make a quality decision because of some unknown reason, that if we let our discouragement destroy our hope then we have only failed ourselves over what's fair and what is not fair.

We need to go back to our thought pattern and change our attitude. Pick up the pieces and get ready to try again. It's easy to fail, it's easy to give up, it's easy to not want to try again because we think we'll lose again and that the system is unfair. But if we just change our thoughts to say "one more try", then we've already won the battle over "fairness"

In a world that changes day in and day out, we need to look at the take away of everything we do. Whether we believe it is fair or unfair, we have to teach these young adults that it's ok to have to try one more time. That not everything in life is going to be fair but if you look at your attitude and you take away the value of the lesson then you have defeated the "Fairness" game.

A point to ponder on my friends...Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14305211888928490407noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968373049058436542.post-61048888180285630602014-03-09T07:51:00.000-07:002014-03-09T07:51:29.790-07:0040 Days of LentThe Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me? (Psalms 118:6 NLT)

This word "fear"... It's in all of our lives but think about the young adult that has no one to ask how to conquer this. Think about if each of us had one young adult to mentor about conquering this word that plagues so many of us. What a change we could make.

As I make this journey for the next two weeks, every thought I think has something to do with conquering this word. Because "fear" has so many different meanings, it's easy to see how someone wouldn't think they have this in their life.

I've been blessed with the facts that every where I seem to turn, every opening of some positive inspirational email and every pintrest picture I see has some underlying hope that makes me overcome this word. It takes effort and mind changing thoughts. Joyce Meyer says that YOUR MIND IS A BATTLEFIELD. In her book she often states that it's a choice to let satan in. Do you let your mind get filled with FEAR, WORRY, ANXIETY, HATE, UNFORGIVENESS, or do we conquer it with LOVE, PATIENCE, SELF CONTROL, GENTLENESS AND FORGIVENESS. If we continue to have "fear" knock at our door then we let the enemy in...

If a package showed up and you had a choice to open one that was addressed to worry, hate & fear or one that was addressed to Love, Peace & Patience, which one would you open?

That my friend is something to be taught to a struggling young adult. Share this with someone today and see if you can change a life for our Savior this Lent season

A point to ponder on my friends...
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I'm stuck on overcoming this word. So many of us have it and yet so many of us don't even know that fear has many names.
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">1. Anger
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">2. Worry
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">3. Hate
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">4. Jealousy
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">5. Unforgiveness
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">6. Control
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">The list could go on and on. How do we overcome this when we don't even know where to begin. We start here:

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">2 Timothy 1:7 in different translations
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">For the Spirit God gave us doesn not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">For the Holy Spirit, God's gift does not want you to be afraid of people, but to be wise and strong, and to love them and enjoy being with them

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead, his Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control

Every day of every year we all have to overcome this. Fear is not fear as we know it because fear has so many different meanings.

I'm getting ready to go on a journey that I have never been on before. It's something I prayed for and 14 years later, God is answering our prayers. This is the word I will be overcoming for the next two weeks.

Please share this word with a young adult and teach them about this. It takes so little effort to do.

So how do I find this word in my everyday life...

Be anxious for nothing Jesus says

Phil 4:6 says this:
"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done"

So when I think of this word JOY and I think of how difficult sometimes it is for myself to feel this everyday, I often wonder for those who do not have a loved one in their life, someone who waits and waits for a parent to walk through the door, someone that doesn't have Jesus in their life, how painful and confusing this word must be to find. How easy it would be to just ignore this and go on with our day confused by the way we feel and never having an understanding of this most precious word.

How easy it would be to touch a young adult life getting ready to venture out into the world we now live in by just giving our time to help explain how to find this. It's spending time and letting someone know that we actually care about them. How lonely it must be to not know this word and to not have anyone to teach them the meaning or show them where they can find it.

Jesus talked in parables when he taught. It didn't take a lengthy amount of time to teach his disciples about the greatest gifts of Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness & Self-Control

When you feel the least and see the least, that is when our God is doing the most in our lives. Why not reach out and spend 10 minutes with someone to talk to them about the word JOY. Explain how to find it and teach them about the WORD

I often reflect on a teen who has made an impact in my life, who has made me a better person seeing her find JOY in everything she does. Whether it be helping out a neighbor, doing a good deed for the Boys & Girls Club or just lending a friend a hand. When I'm feeling a little blue, I remind myself how someone I touched has also touched my life and taught me a great lesson about JOY. It's not the gifts it's the gift of JOY and when you have this word in your life, it could be one of the greatest gifts of all

A point to ponder on my friends...

So what is this word "CONTENTMENT"

Contentment=A state of PEACEFUL happiness. A state of SATISFACTION.

How do we acquire this PEACEFUL state of being? By trusting in our God.

Philippians 4:11
Not than I am implying that I was in any
personal want, for I have learned how to be CONTENT (satisfied to the
point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am

I believe that there are young adults who have not ever even thought of this word or have had anyone talk to them about this word. If we as adults struggle with this ourselves then how are to pass this on to a struggling teen?

It takes research and reading the word. Getting to the point in our lives where we will not let the devil steal our joy. It's standing up and casting down the negative parts of our lives each and every day. In order to help a teen we must be CONTENT ourselves. So find your PEACE by being CONTENT and may God's blessings pour down on you today so that you may pass this word CONTENT onto a young adult who may need to understand this too.

A point to ponder on my friend...Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14305211888928490407noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968373049058436542.post-3045392993754402652013-11-17T09:33:00.002-08:002013-11-17T09:33:34.929-08:00GraceI keep coming back to this word Grace.

Grace is undeserved Faith. It is by our Faith that we receive Gods Grace which was given by the blood of his one and only son, Jesus Christ.

What gift have you given back for being thankful for his Grace.

Grace is something that is free and can be given to anyone who believes. Help a teen receive Grace today and make an impact on their lives.

Why not reach out and look around and see if we can touch just one life this week and share the meaning of what free is.

If your thinking The Power Of Choice then you've guessed correctly. It is our decisions that determine the outcome NOT our conditions.

So how do you teach a teen about choice so they no longer blame others for their future outcome. In a society today that tends to lead teens to believing it is the economy, their parents, their living conditions or lack of "whatever" which lead them to believe they live in a world that is hopeless.

We should be showing and demonstrating that if they choose to make the right choices then they can determine their future success.

If they can change their negative thought pattern into a positive thought pattern then the positive thoughts can create a positive outcome by that choice.

Positive Thoughts = A Positive Attitude and Positive Behavior..

Here’s another way to look at it: Success is a result of positive judgment; positive judgment is a result of experience, in most cases. And what about experience? Yes, experience is most often a result of bad judgment.

So here’s the good news: The experience gained from negative judgment and bad decisions is unbelievably valuable—it’s priceless! It gives us a reason to want to chose correctly

So don’t waste time beating yourself up over poor decisions you’ve made; learn from the experiences. Failure is actually one of the ways we learn. Teach them to stop and think, What happened here? What could I have done differently? It’s only through self-evaluation that they learn how to make better decisions.

Place your priorities in teaching a teen about the Power of Choice. The power of the right choice!

Something to ponder on my friends...

It's one of the fruits of the spirit. A bookend with the other end being Love

So what does this word mean? It seems pretty straight forward but is it really?

The Greek definition of self-control = one who masters his desires.

So I ask myself...how many teens know the way to master their desires when they may not have anyone in their life to teach them how to master their sinful flesh.

Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. [17] For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

Now this may sound like it needs some clarification. But if you have no one to clarify this then how are you to understand? What we need to teach this upcoming generation who will eventually be taking care of us and making decisions in the far future that will affect us is how to avoid the temptations of the flesh (sin) and make a choice based on the spirit. By praying and thinking about our choice based on the answers to our prayer. This is why we must reach out to these young adults and help them in their struggling lives. Offer to take them to church or to spend some positive time with them. It's our responsibility to help change and mold them. If we all just avoid this responsibility then nothing gets accomplished and nothing gets changed and the world continues the way it is allowing God to be removed from every thing that evil can remove it from.

Reach out and touch a struggling teen today. It just takes 5 minutes to let someone know you care

A point to ponder on my friends...

Courage is defined as:
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">So many of us think of weak, not standing up for yourself, powerless or submissive. But do you know the Greek meaning of this word?
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">Meek=Exercising God's strength under His control.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">How many of our teens today know or understand the meaning of this word? This is a word we should be teaching our young adults today. Teaching them to curb their natural desires to rebel or fight or to have their own way.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">I had my son look up this word and his first response was "I don't think I like this word" However, he didn't look at the actual Greek meaning of this word, he just saw that this word contained the word "weak" in one of the definitions and decided he didn't like it.
<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">It's up to us as adults, as parents and as mentors to teach them the true meaning of this. That if they draw their strength in God then all things are possible. Careers, college, continuing eduction and trade schools are in each and everyone of them who want to better themselves by trying. It just takes encouragement on our part. It takes our time which requires nothing except our time.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">So I ask, who has ten minutes to encourage one of our young adults today? Who is willing to go the extra step.

<span style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">A point to ponder on my friends... Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14305211888928490407noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3968373049058436542.post-87561068866691192912013-04-04T12:42:00.004-07:002013-04-04T12:42:51.332-07:00HopeSo I've been thinking about this word HOPE and what it may or may not mean to our young adults getting ready to make their way into the working / college world.

There are so many ways you can think about what this means. The greek definition of HOPE means "expectation of what is sure (certain)".

With that said how many teens out there are uncertain or hopeless? Not having any HOPE for the future or even tomorrow.

A pastor the other day talked about taking risks and how after failures we quit taking risks because we're afraid of another failure. How true that is for more than just teens. How we've become so afraid of the loss that we stop focusing on the success or the "effort" we put forth on trying to move our lives forward.

We get so focused on looking in the rear view mirror that we forget that the front windshield is so much bigger than that mirror. The rear view mirror was intended to see behind us not what lies in front of us

Philippians 3:12-14 I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong; by no means do I count myself and expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward - to Jesus.
I'm off and running and I'm not turning (looking) back

Can we offer some young adult a little HOPE today. It's takes nothing but your time. It's a free gift if you would just give it.

I'm so honored to be a christian, a child of God and to know that deep in my heart that one day I will make it through his narrow door and be able to bow down in front of him and tell him of all the wonderful things I did with his blessings.

I pray for peace and hope in everyone's family today. May god be with you today and in the future.
